From driving trucks on a Western Australian gold mine and working on a 1.3 million-acre cattle station, to training Guide Dog puppies and flying for Air New Zealand, Melanie's unique experiences have shaped a deep understanding of life’s beauty and complexity.

 

​Melanie grew up in Taneatua and Ruatoki, and retains a deep love for the Eastern Bay of Plenty, her Turangawaewae. She now lives in Dunedin, where she and her family are restoring a 100-year-old home.
